Futuropolis: Summer School of Critical Pedagogy

We invite you to the Summer School of Critical Pedagogy.

15.08.2024 —19.08.2022

We invite you to the Summer School of Critical Pedagogy, which will take place from 15 to 19 August in Slavonice.

For more than two years, the Institute of Anxiety has been meeting with members of the NaZemi association in the Futuropolis: School of Emancipation team to create a practical and theoretical framework for critical pedagogy together with primary school teachers. We now cordially invite all educators (at all levels of education) to the summer school, which will take place in Slavonice, August 15-19. The summer school will be an opportunity to share, test and reflect on various methods and tools from Futuropole’s experience. Vacancies are filling up fast, don’t miss the opportunity and fill in the registration form.

At the Summer School of Critical Pedagogy you can expect, among other things:

  • Theatre of the Oppressed workshop
  • concert
  • workshops on imagination, thinking about futures and systems thinking
  • an exhibition on school boundaries

Our goal is to think together about critical pedagogy, engaging current issues in the classroom, and developing democracy in schools. We wish the school to become a place of meeting and thinking together about the current state of the school and the possibilities of its transformation.

The aim of the Summer School is to present the outputs of the Futuropolis project, in which we have been linking teaching in ten schools to ideas of critical pedagogy over the last two years.

On the futuropolis.cz website, which also serves as a Living Textbook, you can read a basic text about the method here.
