The Anxiety Institute creates a space for research on anxiety that spreads through society and manifests itself in insomnia, stress, alienation, loss of empathy, inequality and violence. It is unsuccessfully suppressed by the products of the pharmacological industry and exacerbated by growing social and economic insecurity. The Institute wants to be a platform where anxiety is communicated and opened up to possible solutions, turning it into a force that is capable of radicalizing and forcing structural changes in the existing order of things.

The Institute of Anxiety was founded in 2018 by Zuzana Blochová, Edith Jeřábková, Barbora Kleinhamplová and Eva Kot’átková. From its founding until the establishment of an independent association, the Institute of Anxiety was provided with the organizational background of the curatorial organization Are. At the same time, the project Woods –  community for cultivation, theory and art gradually became independent from the IA programme.
