The Futuropolis project is a three-year development of a new educational method. The cornerstone of the method is critical pedagogy, which is updated for the needs of the present with system thinking and future-modelling approaches. The project is being piloted in nine primary schools, where it is being put into practice by eighteen male and female teachers. The FUTUROPOLIS method builds on an equal relationship between learners and teachers, working together in an effort to understand the world and themselves and to foster critical hope for a better world. One of the main outputs of Futuropolis is a living textbook – a publicly accessible website, with a series of texts, audios, videos, animations and other materials created specifically for the purpose of disseminating the methodology.
