Jiří Žák (1989*) studied at Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the Studio of Tomáš Vaněk. He was on the internship at Academy Of Arts, Architecture And Design In Prague in the Sculptural Studio of Dominik Lang and Edith Jeřábková, at Šaloun Studio of Visiting Professor (Ruth Noack) and at the University of Art and Design in Karlsruhe in studios of Isaac Julien and Vadim Fishkin. In the year 2015, he was laureate of the EXIT Award. In the same year, he was part of team Gallery 207 at Academy Of Arts, Architecture And Design In Prague. He is a member of the so-called Studio Without The Master. In his work, he deals with a critical reflection of historical events and contemporary world with video-essayistic approach. The core of his interest is always the political issue which is mediated by imaginative and immersive form.
